Özet
Bu makale geleneksel figüratif anlayıştan koparak modern sanatta yeni bir ifade olanağına kavuşan taşın değişen biçim dilini, değişen öznel-nesnel biçim kodları üzerinden göstererek, modern dönemden günümüze kadar yapılan taş heykellerin bir "biçim dili” olarak okunmasına ve anlaşılmasına katkıda bulunmayı amaçlar. Taş, heykel sanatının kadim malzemesi olmuştur, olmaya da devam etmektedir. Biçim ve malzemenin ifade olanakları bir imgenin yaratılmasında temel etkendir ve bir dili işaret eder. İnsanın sanatla olan macerasında, taş hem geleneksel bir heykel malzemesi hem de duygu ve düşüncelerin ifade edildiği bir biçim dili olmuştur. Modern dönemde taş değişen sanat ifadeleri bakımından gelenekte görmediğimiz bir biçim diline dönüşür. Taşın dilinde değişen kodlar ritim, ışık, gölge, doku, hareket, boşluk, doluluk ve benzeri değerleri de etkilemiştir. Geleneksel düşüncedeki taşın biçim dili modernle birlikte büyük bir değişime uğramıştır. Taş hem malzeme dili hem de bir biçim dili olduğu gibi bir sanatçının da sanat dili olur. Bu bakımdan taş geleneksel heykelin bir malzemesi olmasına tezat modern heykelin de vazgeçilmez bir malzemesidir. Modern zamanlarda, taş değişen biçim diline göre şekillenerek somuttan soyuta plastik özellikleriyle sanatçıların ilgi odağı olmuştur. Heykelde August Rodin’le başlayan değişim Constantin Brancusi, Hans Arp, Henry Moore, Tony Cragg, İsamu Noguchi, gibi sanatçıların yapıtlarında taş, yeni bir biçim diline dönüşmüştür. Modern süreçte değişen ve kendine özgü ifade gücüne ulaşan, taş bir biçim-malzeme dili olarak yeni anlatım ve ifade olanakları kazanmıştır.

Abstract
This article aims to contribute to the reading and understanding of the stone sculptures made from the modern period to the present as a "form language" by showing the changing form language of the stone, which has gained a new expression opportunity in modern art by breaking away from the traditional figurative understanding, through the changing subjective-objective form codes. It has been and continues to be the ancient material of art. Form and material expression possibilities are the main factor in the creation of an image and point to a language. In man's adventure with art, stone has been both a traditional sculpture material and a form language in which emotions and thoughts are expressed. In the modern period, stone turns into a form language that we have not seen in tradition in terms of changing art expressions. Changing codes in the language of the stone also affected rhythm, light, shadow, texture, movement, space, fullness and similar values. The form language of the stone in traditional thought has undergone a great change with modernity. Stone is both a material language and a An artist becomes a language of art just as it is a formal language. In this respect, stone is an indispensable material of modern sculpture, as opposed to being a material of traditional sculpture. In modern times, stone has been shaped according to the changing language of form and has become the focus of attention of artists with its plastic features from concrete to abstract. The change that started with August Rodin in sculpture, stone has turned into a new form language in the works of artists such as Constantin Brancusi, Hans Arp, Henry Moore, Tony Cragg, Isamu Noguchi. Stone has gained new expression and expression possibilities as a form-material language, which has changed in the modern process and has reached its unique power of expression.
