Abstract

Investigation of the Relationship Between Diversity Management and Organizational Commitment in the Chemical Industry
Workforce diversity is a feature that separates organization members from each other. This feature affects the members' willingness to stay with or move away from the organization. It is important for managers to effectively manage diversity to ensure employee commitment to the organization. In line with this information, the effect of employees' perceptions of diversity management on their organizational commitment was investigated. Within the scope of the study, a questionnaire was applied to 148 white-and blue-collar employees working in two enterprises, "Hür Kimya" and "Bayer Plastik", which are producing in the chemical industry in Istanbul and Düzce. According to the results of the analysis, diversity management affects organizational commitment positively and significantly. Management practices and the organizational environment are sub-dimensions of diversity management, and these dimensions have a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment. However, it was found that attitudes and behaviors do not have a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment.
