Abstract
Evaluation of Recreational Areas of Samsun/Bafra City Center and its Vicinity
Hectic pace of daily life and the challenges of socio-economic conditions have increased the recreational needs of people. Therefore, recreational activities are significant for relaxation, decompression and regeneration of people. Consequently, during the planning of the recreational areas, sustainable usage and conservation should be considered. In this study, the recreational areas in Bafra, a city of Samsun Province, and in its vicinity were evaluated in terms of efficiency and usage-conservation balance. Furthermore, information about recreational areas gathered using observation of the authors and semi-structured interviews. Eventually, data based on the sample of 100 people were analyzed using non-parametric percentage frequency test. In conclusion part suggestions about the recreational areas were presented.
