Abstract
Social Darwinism
In the middle of the 19th Century, published by Charles Darwin's Origin of the Species, the study has opened a new era in the world of science. Darwin, nature observations have been concluded as a result of biological evolution it has also been explained by natural selection process. This theory, put forward earlier by Thomas Robert Malthus "Population Theory" and Herbert Spencer's "survival of the fittest" has been associated with the idea. Social Darwinism is the application of Darwin's theory of evolution to the social sphere expanded. This concept of competition between individual organisms in the environment most appropriate individuals as being the resume of the society and in the international competition refers to the process of social evolution that survive to win the struggle for existence. Social Darwinism, the idea is to reflect the social life fighting to live. This theory, laissez-faire approach to the economic sphere; In the social and political spheres are used to form the basis of racist and imperialist ideas. The purpose of this study, a period that has dominated Europe and at that time the idea of Social Darwinism also effective on Ottoman intellectuals "theoretical" to approach the comprehension of literature and political science to gain recognition.
