Abstract

Conservation of the Manuscript Titled "Kitâbu'l-Ilel ve Ma'rıfeti'r Ricâl" from Ayasofya Collection at Suleymaniye Manuscript Library
Manuscripts, which is one of our cultural heritage, are organic works that are open to deterioration because they contain many organic and inorganic materials such as paper, ink, leather, textile, murakka, gold and paint. The fact that these materials react differently to the environment in which they are located, and the coexistence of these materials affect each other causes deterioration to become more complex. Therefore, they should be preserved under appropriate conditions. This research covers the determination and analysis of the deterioration seen in the manuscript with the full title Kitâbu'l- 'ilel ve Ma'rifeti'r-rical (al Câmi'fi'l- 'ilel ve ma'rifeti'r-ricâl) of Süleymaniye Manuscript Library, Hagia Sophia Collection, with the inventory number 03380, and the conservation studies planned to be applied in line with the data obtained.
