Abstract
The Effect of the Determinants of Innovation on Employee Motivation: A Research for Hotel Enterprises
A new product, process or application that creates added value in businesses is defined as innovation. Today, there are some requirements for innovation, which is considered a necessity for businesses to achieve their goals. How these requirements reflect on employee motivation is the subject of the research. The aim of this study is to determine the impact of the determinants of innovation in hotel businesses on employee motivation. The population of the research consists of employees of hotel businesses with tourism management certificates in Kayseri. Within the scope of the research, convenience sampling method was preferred and data was collected from 400 employees using the survey technique. The data collection form consists of three parts that measure the participants' demographic information, their perceptions of the determinants of innovation in the company they work for, and their motivation to work. Within the scope of the research, a positive significant relationship was detected between the determinants of innovation and employee motivation. In the research, it was determined that open policy, management support, training and development factors that determine innovation positively affect employee motivation. As a result of the research, suggestions were made to businesses and employees in line with the findings. The results of the study are limited to the answers given by 400 participants who participated in the survey.
