Abstract


A Research on the Effect of Social Loafing Perception of Athletes on their Performance Levels
Social loafing behavior is considered as a frequently encountered problem in sports activities where group work is important and necessary. Therefore, it is argued that social loafing negatively affects group performance in many areas. Based on this idea, it was aimed to examine the effect of social loafing perception of athletes on their performance in this study. In this context, a field study was conducted on folk dances, football, basketball and volleyball team players operating in Alanya district of Antalya. A total of 390 athletes participated in the study. Data were collected by applying face-to-face survey technique with convenience sampling method. In the results of working; It can be said that the participants in the research think that their teammates are not loafing and accordingly they perform at a high level. In addition, it was determined that the perceived social loafing level decreased the performances of folk dances, football, basketball and volleyball players at various levels.
