Abstract

A Research on the Vision Setting Levels and Crisis Management Skills of Headmasters
Today, schools can experience crisis due to reasons arising from outside of the school as well as within the institution. Schools, like all organizations, aim to come out of the crisis without any damage or with the least damage. These desires do not realize automatically. This can be possible with an effective crisis management. The most basic and vital issue in crisis management is that managers have the ability to develop an effective vision. The ability of the headmasters to develop a vision provides important contributions to the school's recovery from the crisis with minimum damage, to the preservation of the school's reputation and image without much damage, and to the motivation and performance of the personnel. In this research, an emperical study was carried out on 405 teachers working in Kırşehir city center. In the study, in which the face-to-face survey technique was used, teachers were asked to evaluate the crisis management and vision setting skills of their headmasters. The data were obtained by convenience sampling method. It was determined that the vision setting and crisis management skills of the headmasters working in public schools were identified as "moderate" and also results show that the vision setting levels of the headmasters predicted their crisis management skills.
