Abstract
The Effect of Transformational Leadership on Work Performance: The Example of Zonguldak Province
Employee performance can occur in various dimensions depending on individual and organizational factors. One of the organizational factors is the leadership characteristics of managers. Based on this idea, the effect of transformational leadership, which protects the interests of its followers, sets an example for them, ensures commitment to team goals and plays an encouraging role in working for general welfare, on business performance was examined. The study was carried out at Gökçebey Ceramic Factory, Çaycuma Elcap Cable Factory and Devrek Cilas Rubber Factory, which operate in different areas in Zonguldak province. A total of 358 employees participated in the study using face-to-face survey technique. In the results of working; transformational leadership perceptions and job performances of people working at Gökçebey Ceramic Factory and Çaycuma Elcap Cable Factories were found to be at a medium level. It has been determined that the transformational leadership perceptions of the employees at Devrek Cilas Rubber Factory are at a medium level, but their performance levels are at an acceptable level. In addition, it was determined that transformational leadership characteristics affected the performance levels of employees in all three factories.
