Abstract
During I. Alâeddin Keykubat's Sovereignty (1220-1237) The Relationship of Embassies between the Turkey Seljuk State and Ayyubids
Diplomatic relations are of great importance in the recognition of a state as a political structure by other states. One of the factors that provide this relationship between the states is the ambassadors. The embassy relations between the Turkey Seljuk State and Ayyubids, which were the subject of this study, began in order to correct deteriorating relations between the two states after the Aleppo Expedition, which took place during the Reign of I. Izzeddin Keykavus. The Sultan of Seljuk wanted to establish a kinship with the State of Ayyubid through marriage for this purpose and sent an envoy to the State of Ayyubid to convey his request. The I. Alâeddin Keykubad period between the Turkey Seljuk State and Ayyubids began for this reason, and embassy relations continued for various reasons. During this period, envoys came and went between the two states, most of them before the Battle of Yassıçemen. In addition, Ayyubid rulers sent ambassadors to I. Alâeddin Keykubad to resolve their disagreements. Again, in order to improve the deteriorating relations between the two states, these states have sent envoys to each other. In research, the gifts given to the envoys and the gifts brought by the envoys and the entertainment councils organized in honor of the envoys were also included.
