Abstract
Developing a Strategy for Agricultural and Tourism Based Planning Approach in Rural Settlements in Tekirdag Ganos Region
Many plans and policies have been developed on a local-regional-national and international scale for the development of rural settlements. These strategies, which were created at various stages, are based on agriculture and tourism-themed approaches managed according to environmental, social and economic criteria. On a national scale, especially with the Ninth Development Plan, goals such as "Diversification of the Rural Economy" and "The correct solution of space-specific conditions" have come to the fore, and principles and principles involving the sustainable development of agriculture and tourism specific to rural settlements have been included in the relevant plan goals. At the global level, goals and strategies for the growth of agriculture and tourism are included in the policies and approaches of organizations specific to rural communities such as the World Bank, the United Nations, the OECD and the European Union. The rural settlements of the Ganos Mountains of Tekirdağ province overlooking the Marmara Sea (Uçmakdere, Gaziköy, Güzelköy and Hoşköy) have developed from the Ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman periods to the present day. Agricultural activities such as olive growing, viticulture and cherry growing are carried out in this characteristic rural environment where the traces of the Lausanne Exchange are evident. There are also potential areas of activity such as silkworm farming and tobacco growing. On the other hand, Ganos Region has an important tourism potential with its rural landscape, mobile topography, microclimatic climate, natural vegetation, water presence, lifestyle, and civil architectural texture. In this study, It is aimed to develop various strategies based on agriculture and tourism-based planning approach that considers the natural, cultural and social aspects, differences and diversity of rural settlements in the Ganos Region of Tekirdağ. For this purpose; In line with the potentials arising from the natural and socio-cultural landscape values in the rural part of Tekirdağ Ganos Region, data supported by GIS-based maps and charts and graphs, identity cards have been created and strategies for the development of rural settlements have been developed.
