Abstract
Death and Food Rituals in Turks
Death is one of the important phenomena accepted by all societies from the moment they were born. This phenomenon, which starts from the death of the individual and continues after death, is an inevitable reality of human life. The phenomenon of death has left the same reactive traces in all societies, the loss of the deceased and the uncertainty about the life after death have caused the feeling of fear and anxiety in societies. This obscurity has led societies to different practices. In this context, death has pushed societies to a certain cultural phenomenon throughout human history; myths, religious practices and rituals. Eating, which was a physical need from the first human to the present, has been included in events such as death, weddings and festivals, and has contributed to societies to be together and to act with common values.
