Abstract
Digital Transformation in Museums: Investigating the Digital Transformation Perceptions and Competencıes of Museum Employees
In this study, it is aimed to examine the perceptions and competencies of the personnel who work in museums towards the technological innovations that come with the digital transformation, after the digital transformations in museums. The theoretical background of the study is based on the technology acceptance model. The population of the study consists of museums affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The study, in which qualitative research method was used, was designed as a case study. The data were obtained by using a semi-structured interview form and a semi-structured observation form. To analyze the study findings, MAXQDA 22 data analysis program was used. In line with the data obtained from the study, it is seen that the level of competence and perception of the museum staff towards digital transformations is high, the adaptation time to new technologies has been improved through training and information sharing methods when necessary, and the digital transformations in the museums increase the social media sharing and enable the visitors to actively participate in the museum visits.
