Özet
Çin’in Vuhan kentinde 2019 yılının son aylarında ortaya çıkmış olan Covid-19 pandemisi, tüm dünyada sağlık, sosyal ve ekonomik hayatı felce uğratmıştır. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, Covid-19 virüsünün Birleşik Kralllık’ta faaliyet gösteren ulusal ve uluslararası şirketlerine etkisini araştırmaktır. Covid 19’un Birleşik Krallık’ta teknoloji, telekomünikasyon ve medya gibi önemli alanlarda faaliyet gösteren şirketlerin içinde bulunduğu FTSE TechMARK All Share (FTTASX) endeksi ile ilaç, biyoteknoloji, tıbbi cihaz ve malzemeler sektörlerinin içinde bulunduğu FTSE TechMARK Mediscience endeksine etkisi araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan veriler SPSS paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada Kolmogorov-Smirnov normallik analizi, Pearson korelasyon katsayısı analizi, ANOVA ve lineer regresyon analizleri kullanılmıştır. Covid-19’un hem teknoloji hem de tıbbi medikal şirketlerin bulunduğu endekslere anlamlı bir şekilde etki ettiği görülmüştür. Covid-19’da ki artış teknoloji şirketleri değerinde azalışa neden olurken, medikal şirketlerin değerinde artışa neden olmuştur.

Abstract
The coronavirus (Covid-19) spread from Wuhan, China has affected health, social and economic life. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the Covid-19 virus on companies which are in the UK. In the UK, there is the FTSE TechMARK All Share (FTTASX) index, which includes companies operating in key areas such as technology, telecommunications and media. In addition, there is the FTSE TechMARK Mediscience index, which includes the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and materials sectors. The effects of Covid-19 on these two indices were investigated. SPSS software was used in the study. In the study, Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient analysis, ANOVA and linear regression analysis were used. Covid-19 had a significant effect on both indices. The increase in Covid-19 causes a decrease in the value of technology companies. It caused an increase in the value of medical companies.
