Abstract


Considering the Safe Tourism Certification Program in terms of Crisis Management and Sustainability
Crisis management is a concept that develops in order to prevent unexpected problems or to take and implement the necessary measures for problems that may occur. Sustainability in tourism, on the other hand, contributes to the formation of economic efficiency and the preservation of cultural integrity in the region. The safe tourism certification program, which stood out during the Corona Virus (Covid-19) Pandemic, which contains domestic and foreign tourists staying in Turkey, their transportation, accommodations and measures for the health of the hotel employees. This study conducted during May-June 2020 in Çanakkale province. In this context, the aim of this study is to address and determine the attitudes of accommodation facilities that have a safe tourism certification program in Çanakkale towards crisis management and sustainability within the scope of the Safe Tourism Certification Program. The structured questionnaire (survey) method, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. 300 questionnaires were sent to the participants and 260 employees participated in the study. As a result of the study, it was revealed that employees in facilities that have a Safe Tourism Certification Program feel more secure and perceive that local and foreign tourists staying at the facility are more safer. In this context, it can be said that these enterprises are successful in crisis management. In this respect, it can be concluded that during crisis periods such as the Covid-19 Pandemic, which is on the agenda, it is extremely important for the employees and tourists staying at the facility to have safe tourism certification.
