Abstract


The Issue of Migration in Turkish Foreign Policy Free Migration From Yugoslavia to Turkey and Case of Köprülü/Titoveles District
This paper, examines the issue of migration, one of the important matters of Turkish foreign policy, within the settings of 1950s and over immigrants that came from Former Yugoslavia to Turkey. After giving a theoretical framework and a historical background, city of Skopje, of Macedonian Republic of Former Yugoslavia, and its subdistrict Köprülü/Titoveles constitutes the central point of this paper. Şimşek family, that migrated to Turkey in 1955, and all other Turkish and Muslim immigrants of Grono Vranofça village of this subdistrict have been examined within this frame, and also related literature and archival sources have also been examined. This work, that aims at the beginning of a broader research, hopes to contibute for a clearer information of details of lives of migrants who came from outside of Turkey, and also better understanding and solution of problems of current and potential immigrant populations.
