Abstract


Gamification as a Marketing tool in the Tourism
Gamification is commonly used in other disciplines, while it is newly utilized in the tourism sector. Gamification is also recently used in tourism marketing; it is used to enhance the experience of participants. Gaming is a recreational activity, and the motivations of gamers are used by marketers to connect and promote tourism products to gamers. Gamification is also used to improve the awareness of a touristic destination. The purpose of the study is to show the connection between gamification and tourism. In this research, secondary sources were used to understand the importance of the topic and the level of connection and impact between concepts. For this purpose, studies on gamification and tourism have been searched in national and international literature. The research is built on other studies in the literature. The results show that gamification applications provide benefits in terms of tourism marketing and awareness of the brands used.
