Abstract
The Evaluation of Colors as Atmospheric Elements in Terms of Hotel Lobbies: Example of Ali's Farm Boutique Hotel & Spa
Hotels, which are common accommodation establishments, use atmospheric elements effectively to increase the satisfaction of customers. These elements constitute visual cues, auditory cues, smells, and emotional, cognitive, and behavioral responses. Colors, one of the visual cues, are an important atmospheric element associated with the hotel. The aim of this study is to examine the use of colors, one of the atmospheric elements, in hotel lobbies. In this context, Ali’s Farm Boutique Hotel & Spa in Çanakkale Province Assos Region has been chosen as an example. The colors used in the walls, ceilings, and furniture of the hotel lobby were examined. According to the findings, the cream color used on the walls of the hotel made the area that is not very large appear wider. The stones used in the hotel walls reflect the North Aegean culture. It has been observed that the white color used on the ceiling also prevents a decrease in height perception.
