Abstract
The Effectiveness of Person-Organization Fit on Job Performance: A Research on the Employees of 3 and 4 Star Hotels in Batman Province
The similarities of values and goals between the person and the organization lay the groundwork for harmony between the person and the organization, and the resulting harmony is reflected in the person's performance at work. Within the scope of this study, it is to determine whether the person-organization fit has an effect on the work performance of the employees. For this purpose, a research was conducted on the employees working in three and four star hotel establishments in Batman province. The universe of the research consists of 101 employees working in these hotels. The research data obtained through the questionnaire were analyzed through the SPSS Windows 22.0 program. Number, percentage, mean and standard deviation were used as descriptive statistical methods in the evaluation of the data. Besides, descriptive statistical methods T-test, Anova test, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation and regression analysis were used in the analysis of the data. According to the analysis results, it was seen that the person-organization fit was positively and very weakly correlated with overall job performance and contextual performance, but not statistically significant with task performance. However, it has been observed that there is a positive and strong relationship between job performance and contextual performance, and a positive and moderate relationship between job performance and task performance. As a result of the regression analysis, it was seen that person-organization fit was effective on job performance, but this effect was very weak. Another result of the study is that person-organization fit has a weak effect on contextual performance.
