Abstract
The Problem of Land Use Planning (LUP) for Industrial Accidents in Turkey
Land Use Planning (LUP) is extremely important for major industrial accidents caused by hazardous chemicals that result in serious life, property and environmental losses. LUP is a concept that covers the use of the land around an industrial establishment, its interaction with the structures and elements in the vicinity, the required safety distances, and issues of zoning. In this study, it was aimed to investigate this important issue, which has not been included in the legislation of our country, and to determine solutions for this issue. For this purpose, firstly, the national legislation related to LUP was examined to analyze the current situation. Then evaluating the international regulatory and scientific resources, LUP solutions were proposed for major industrial accidents in Turkey. It is foreseen that the study will make significant contributions to scientific and legislative studies on the subject.
