Abstract
Evaluation of Müşküle Village on the Tourism Route as a Protection Method
With rapid urbanization in the era of globalization, the population of rural settlements is gradually decreasing. This situation; to cause the destruction of rural settlements and a decrease in cultural heritage diversity. In the study, it is aimed to plan a tourism route for the sustainability of Müşküle village, to protect its cultural heritage potential and to promote it in terms of alternative tourism. In the study, a qualitative research design was designed and applied in rural settlements on the southern shore of Lake Iznik. In the first step, a literature review was made and the concept of "route" was investigated. In the second step, "Evaluation Criteria" were created to determine the potential tourism status of rural settlements. An Evaluation Form was designed to test the evaluation criteria in the field. In the third step; The analysis of the village of Müşküle was made with the evaluation form, the current situation of the rural settlement was determined, its problems were determined, and suggestions were made on the development of its potentials. In the last step, the tourism potentials of Müşküle village were built on tourism routes with other rural settlements in the region. With the planned routes, a holistic protection and management approach will be observed in rural settlements and the sustainability of their values will be ensured.
