Abstract
Evaluation of Izmir-Karaburun, Mordoğan Village by Local Stakeholders in Terms of Rural Tourism
Public and non-governmental organizations carry out studies to evaluate the tourism potential in Mordoğan Town of Karaburun district of İzmir province. In these studies, it was emphasized that it is important to develop the rural tourism potential of the region and to create new job opportunities and income diversity. In this study, it is aimed to determine the potential of rural tourism in Mordoğan town, which is connected to the Karaburun district of İzmir province, and to reveal the evaluations for its development. In the study, a literature review was conducted on the subject and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 10 rural tourism stakeholders operating in the Mordoğan town in order to evaluate the development of rural tourism potential. Stakeholder analysis was carried out based on the data obtained as a result of the interviews with rural tourism stakeholders in the research region. With the stakeholder analysis, it has been revealed that the region has an important rural tourism potential but does not receive the attention it deserves, therefore studies should be carried out to develop the rural tourism potential of the region.
